Denali Basecamp Talk
Lisa Roderick
The Denali Basecamp Talk offers a glimpse into my life living on a glacier during the ten week Denali climbing season, the myriad of interesting characters and mountain climbers I have encountered, and my duties working with and providing weather observations for the Talkeetna glacier pilots who bring more than one thousand climbers along with hundreds of scenic flight passengers to the basecamp at 7,200 feet elevation on the Kahiltna Glacier each season.
Time: 1hr
Cost: $350 for 1 – 25 pax | $450 for 26 – 50 pax
I can generally offer two show times per day. The times and dates can be built to meet your needs and tour schedule.
The Denali Basecamp Talk features breathtaking photos and video of the spectacular Alaska Range, along with exciting action shots of climbing on some of the world’s most difficult mountains and climbing routes. An audience favorite and highlight of my show is a five minute video that concludes my presentation. The film is set to music and features video and images taken by my husband, photographer and former Denali climbing ranger Mark Westman, who has nearly three decades of experience climbing in the Alaska Range.
I am also working on assembling other speakers to offer shows more specifically about mountain climbing in Alaska, as well as dog mushing. My goal is to offer a multi-dimensional array of presentations to offer for visitors to our town detailing activities of local interest.
